Mazel Tov! We have a government

Mazel Tov!
We have a new government. It has more ministers than the one formed by King David, but there are times when there is no other choice – I suppose.

Since we have more ministers than ministeries to offer, I am left wondering how come we don’t have a Health Minister.
Maybe we don’t need one. We can all do fine with the Head Psychiatrist alone.
King David had a ‘wine treasury minister’; maybe we should have one too. It will complete the Head Psychiatrist job and then we would and could most certainly do away with the Health Minister.

I am curious about Mr. Lieberman, our new Foreign Minister. I wonder what he will do next, being part of this –most probably – very short lived government. In the past he has shown a lot more cooperation and flexibility when sitting in a position with the government than when campaigning to get it.
I heard he was once a bouncer, I can’t remember if in the former Soviet Union or here in Israel but a juggler would have been more appropriate.

In any case, I suppose right wing voters are happier than the others. My heart goes out to them.
I would like to remind them that, as I said in my last post, Mr. Begin signed the peace agreement with Egypt which resulted in the Sinai to be returned to Egypt. Minus the Gaza Strip, of course. Late President Saadat was a very smart and intelligent person.
In 1991, Prime Minister Shamir went to Madrid and started the so called Middle East Peace Process. Whatever that was supposed to be.
Then came Ariel Sharon and withdrew from the Gaza Strip taking all the settlements out and creating an even deeper division line among Israelis.
Last, Mr. Olmert went for the Annapolis version of peace and almost succeeded in his proposal to withdraw from East Jerusalem and the West Bank. Almost.

We will wait and see what happens next.

By the way, I have a question: is there any other country with colored borders? I have green lines, blue lines and even red lines. If you know of another country that has them, please let me know.

Thank you
Anna Maria
